I love a camel coat. Chic, classy, and timeless, the camel coat is easily one of my favorite fall and winter wardrobe pieces that I reach for over and over again, year after year. Whether you’re styling casual athleisure wear or heading to a dressy night out, a chic camel coat is incredibly versatile and can instantly elevate an outfit. (If you’re wondering how to style a camel coat, check out this post with 6 Timeless Camel Coat Looks for Women.)
The camel coat is the ultimate quiet luxury statement outerwear that is enduringly elegant and sophisticated. It’s worth it to invest in a camel coat you love because it’s a capsule wardrobe staple that won’t ever go out of style.
Incredibly flattering and functional, I’ve curated the best camel coats for women including a variety of lengths, styles (wrap coats, oversized, tailored), neutral tones (warm-toned, cool-toned) , fabrics (wool, camel hair, cashmere), and price points (high-quality affordable pieces to high-end options).
Lined vs. Unlined: For the money, I have a very strong preference for lined coats. Not only can lining add a luxe touch and additional warmth, but it improves the coat’s longevity by helping maintain its structure and preventing it from stretching out. It’s also nice to not worry about the outfit you wear under the coat rubbing against the fabric and pilling or wearing out over time.
The one exception where I’ll purchase an unlined coat is when it is specifically stated that it is “double-faced.” Double-faced fabrics are two layers woven together in a way that both sides are of equal quality and appearance. The double-facing gives you the durability of a lining without compromising the silhouette. The most luxe unlined coats will have a beautiful relaxed drape while also being lightweight and breathable. All of the camel coats on this list are lined or double-faced.
