Whether you have dreams of becoming a millionaire (or billionaire!), or just want financial freedom so you can stop worrying about your future, money mindset books will help you get there.

Like it or not, money is a necessity in our society. And it can make life easier or cause stress. Money is a tool and source of power. And especially for women, it is incredibly important to feel confident and empowered when it comes to anything related to your finances.

I used to think that money mindset was a “woo-woo” concept until I started my own business. I realized I needed to make some mental adjustments to my thought patterns if I wanted to achieve the goals and influence I dreamed of having. In fact, the right mindset is critical to success in any area. And it’s something that needs to be cultivated and maintained. And this is true no matter what you do.

So What Is Money Mindset?

What comes to mind when you hear the word “money?” Whether you’re aware of it or not, everyone has a unique relationship with money. The real question is whether your current money mindset is serving you.

Your money mindset is your set of beliefs—conscious and subconscious—around all things money. How you think and feel about money affects your financial habits, behaviors, and decisions, including how you earn, save, spend, invest, and all the ways in which you might give and receive it.

It’s not your fault if you have an unhealthy relationship with money. Depending on a host of factors including (but not limited to) your upbringing, your education, your family, your social circles, your life experiences, and your values, you have received and internalized countless messages around money that you didn’t intentionally curate.

But now that you know this, you are in charge of changing it.

How to Improve Your Money Mindset

Believe it or not, the best way I’ve found to improve your money mindset (and the method that has worked for my successful Beyond Influential guests), has been reading books on money mindset and putting the lessons into practice.

That’s why I’ve curated the 20 best money mindset books for women that cover everything from how to improve your money mindset, to debunking common money myths, to actionable money mindset tips and exercises you can put into practice immediately. These recommendations will help you break through self-limiting thoughts, start building wealth, and achieve financial freedom.

20 Money Mindset Books for Women That Will Transform Your Life

You Are a Badass at Making Money: Master the Mindset of Wealth by Jen Sincero

You Are a Badass at Making Money

Jen Sincero’s You Are a Badass at Making Money is an excellent place to start working on your money mindset and improving your relationship with money. The material in this book was drawn from Sincero’s own financial transformation over just a few years from a broke 40-year-old to successful business owner, and now a highly sought after coach, speaker, and multiple-time New York Times bestselling author.

Sincero makes the process of shifting your thoughts around money easy-to-grasp, actionable, and not too “woo-woo” (if you’re not about the woo life), while adding plenty of stories and humor so it’s not dry and boring. The exercises in the book will help you uncover the doubts, fears, and limiting beliefs that are holding you back from making the money you want, so you can learn how to relate to your personal finances in a new and healthier way.

A Happy Pocket Full of Money, Expanded Study Edition: Infinite Wealth and Abundance in the Here and Now by David Cameron Gikandi

A Happy Pocket Full of Money, Expanded Study Edition

I picked up A Happy Pocket Full of Money after it was recommended to me during a Beyond Influential interview by guest Jill Stanton, founder of the Millionaire Girls Club. As a now 7-figure entrepreneur who started from scratch, she found it incredibly helpful in leveling up her mindset to what was required to become a millionaire.

I want to give a fair warning: if you’re not ready to approach this book with an open mind, this one might not be for you. This book even includes guidance on how to read it: first read it once through in its entirety, then read it a second time more slowly, and lastly, don’t read the book with your logical mind, but rather feel the lessons in the book.

However, if you are open to concepts related to the law of attraction and manifestation, A Happy Pocket Full of Money is all about developing wealth consciousness and practicing deliberate thoughts and intentions around money, abundance, and happiness.

We Should All Be Millionaires: A Woman’s Guide to Earning More, Building Wealth, and Gaining Economic Power by Rachel Rodgers

We Should All Be Millionaires - 20 Money Mindset Books for Women

Rachel Rodger’s We Should All Be Millionaires has quickly become one of my favorite money books to recommend to women across the board. It doesn’t matter how old you are or what you do for a living—whether you’re an entrepreneur, influencer, or professional woman in any career setting, you ,em>need to read this book.

Only 10 percent of the world’s millionaires are women, which means it is more difficult for women to be making the impact they want (and deserve) to be making. In this book, Rodgers —a Black woman, mother of four, attorney, business owner, and self-made millionaire—not only shares the lessons she’s learned in her own journey to wealth, but also the tested tips, tools, and frameworks she’s developed from coaching hundreds of women through their own journeys to seven figures.

We Should All Be Millionaires sets up a straightforward, practical, step-by-step path to becoming a millionaire yourself. The book covers what it takes to achieve financial freedom: from addressing the specific challenges women and minorities face in acquiring wealth, to busting popular money myths, to challenging any limiting beliefs that are standing in the way of you becoming rich. You’ll learn how to stop making “broke-ass decisions,” and start setting higher goals for yourself. Plus, Rachel also includes ideas and strategies to start making money ASAP.

This is the book that defined and popularized “mindset” as we know it today. Happy Money: The Japanese Art of Making Peace with Your Money by Ken Honda

Happy Money book

If you’re a fan of Marie Kondo’s book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing or her other content, you will like Ken Honda’s Happy Money: The Japanese Art of Making Peace with Your Money.

Ken Honda is Japan’s #1 bestselling personal development coach. And in this book he teaches you how to achieve peace of mind when it comes to money.

Did you know money is more than just paper, it has the ability to smile? Money changes when it is given with a certain energy. And you want to make sure you are both giving and receiving from grateful and joyful places.

Happy Money is focused on helping you create and generate personal wealth and happiness.

You’ll learn how to treat money as a welcome guest (allowing it to come and go with respect and without resentment), understand and improve your money EQ, let go of any scarcity mindset blocks. And embrace the process of both receiving and giving money.

According to one reviewer, ”This book explains very well about the nature of you and money as energy from an EQ (emotional intelligence) point of view which makes it unique among many financial management books based on money IQ.

It may be tough but if Happy Money leads to happy life and Unhappy Money leads to unhappy life, it’s worth your effort to look at your relationship with your money NOW especially if you are stressed about money. After all, it’s just a game.

As I started practicing “Arigato in” and “Arigato out”, I became more conscious about the energy flow of the money around me as well as how I receive and spend my money. I’m reminded that people and relationships are way more important than money. I certainly want to surround myself with happy money and people with happy money.”
